One of the most lovely things about being caterers in Woodford County Kentucky is we get to visit so many beautiful places when we provide the food for weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. And one of our favorite places is Wildside Winery on Troy Pike here in Versailles.
We have had the privilege to cater many events here over the past couple of years and have got to know the owners Rachel and Neil well , so we were more than delighted when we were asked to come back for another year and cater their special Cupid’s Day luncheon on February 14. This year the luncheon will be coupled with a “Who Dunnit” play and guests will be able to take a stab in the dark or should we say a highly educated guess, as to who committed the dastardly deed!
We’ve come up with a mouth watering menu to tempt and tease you which includes Tuscan salad with among the cast, cranberries, candied walnuts and caramelized onions. There’ll be roasted winter veggies (asparagus, Brussel sprouts, carrots, Portobella mushrooms) and oven roasted chicken smothered with a creamy Dijon sauce and crispy country ham.
Then whilst you and your love are giving some serious thought as to who murdered Mrs. Peacock in the dining room with a candlestick (Oh my! I loved Clue as a child and could play for hours) we will be setting up the dessert station.
How do some red velvet cake shooters, mocha brownies and white chocolate mousse cups with a berry coulis tickle your fancy?
Of course, all this will be complemented with a choice of exclusive Wildside Winery wines chosen to compliment each course. A wine tasting to make your selection will take place around noon before luncheon at 1 PM. Star of the show is the newly launched Dry Rose Cabernet Sauvignon, a crisp, light rose and a perfect partner for the chicken.
And the beauty of a luncheon, if this romantic notion had not already occurred to you, is that it leaves the evening free to cozy up at home with your love, throw a log on the fire and sip a few more glasses of wine!!
For reservations call Wildside Winery (859-879-3982) or visit their website at Wildside Winery.
Tickets are $40 plus tax per person.
Don’t leave it too long to call as last year’s event sold out pretty quickly.
