Our Sweet Story
Sweet Lilu’s was founded in 2011 by owner and Pastry Chef Beth Hensley. After graduating from Sullivan University’s program for Baking and Pastry Arts in 2001, Beth worked in some of central Kentucky’s best bakeries, restaurants and catering facilities. Beth learned everything from making delectable cakes and pastries to cooking and organizing for events of up to 500 people.
By 2006 Beth had her first of two boys, Liam, and decided it was in her future to start a business that she could manage and take care of her kiddos. At that point it was just a thought. By 2011, after kiddo number two, Luke, Beth was ready to take the steps to open Sweet Lilu’s for business.
Chef Beth, in collaboration with her partners Jordan, Jessica, Marybeth and Alex, created a team dedicated to bringing the best of Lilu's to more folks across the Bluegrass.
“I am passionate about several things, but my true passion is FOOD. I love to cook, bake and serve! I do not care if I am putting together dinner for my family or catering an event for a dear client. I love to feed people! I am truly happy doing this, so this is the career I chose and the foundation Sweet Lilu’s is built on, my passion to serve people the food I love to make!” - Chef Beth
